The Battle of Geonosis was a battle that took place at the beginning of the Clone War. It marked the first ever deployment of Clone Troopers on the battlefield against the forces of the CIS. The battle started when Macey Space led a rescue team of nearly 200 Jedi to save Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker and some other fools from an execution arena on Geonosis, where Count Dooku, Nute Gunray, Jango Fett and Poggle the Lesser were overseeing their execution.

After Macey Space attacked Dooku and leapt down into the arena itself, Obi-Wan and Anakin freed themselves and all the previously-hidden Jedi revealed themselves, attacking Droids and Geonosians alike. Senator Amidala  and Anakin hid inside a destroyed sleigh whilst Macey and Obi-Wan went back-to-back, destroying loads of droids before they were seperated by Jango Fett. Macey seperated Fett's head from his body and went on to destroy a million droids before finally being surrounded and cornered along with the rest of the surviving Jedi. However, the timely arrival of Yoda with a massive Clone attack force saved the survivours and extended the battle to the rest of the Geonosian plains.

As the Clones deployed and beat back the droids, Dooku escaped after a duel with Obi-Wan and Anakin (which resulted in Anakin losing his arm) and the droid army retreated to their ships. The Clones deployed SPHA-T walkers to destroy the fleeing droid ships, and they sent dozens of droid carriers plummeting back down to the ground to be destroyed either by the impact or the sustained weapons fire of the AT-TEs.

After a continous battle that lasted several hours, the droids retreated and the Republic were victorious. Yoda remarked, however, that it was not really a victory, since the Clone War had begun nontheless.
