A typical Geonosian
Geonosians are a race of bug-like creatures that inhabit the planet of Geonosis. Their species is divided into strict caste systems based on class - Workers, Warriors and Leaders (i.e. Polticians). Geonosians are known for their aggresive, almost savage culture, with the primary form of entertainment for most Geonosians being their bast Arena battles, usually pitting prisoners against large animals or Droid execution squads.
Geonosians were one of the first races to join the CIS when it was established and their leader, Poggle the Lesser, allowed the Techno Union, led by Wat Tambor, to construct huge droid factories on Geonosis to mass-produce an army of droids cheaply. The Geonosians mostly worked these factories but some took combat roles as Generals or Admirals of certain ships, and some worked as technicians designing newer and more powerful droid models for their army.
